Spider Vein Removal
Spider Vein Removal
(Scoleratherapy)
We have all seen them – those unsightly red, blue or purple spider veins which seem to multiply at a rapid pace! You may have (unfortunately!) inherited a predisposition to spider veins or perhaps even developed them during or after pregnancy.
You’ll be happy to know that we now offer vascular treatment to help improve the appearance; if not rid, of these veins! Sclerotherapy is a method of treatment of unsightly, superficial veins; most commonly, a red, blue or purple appearance, found on the lower legs, thighs and sometimes face. These treatments are performed by our experienced registered nursing team; Tania Thériault and Lisa Gastélum.
We recommend spider vein treatment for anyone with undesirable superficial veins. These veins must be smaller or less developed in their condition (not varicose veins).
How does it work?
Consultation
Depending on the number of veins injected in one session, the size of the vein, and the location of the vein(s); our nursing team will be able to determine how many treatments will provide you with optimal results! Should you have multiple spider veins, be prepared for several sclerotherapy sessions to close all affected veins.
Treatments
During a treatment, a mild sclerosing solution is injected into the veins. When injected, this solution will irritate the walls of the veins causing it to shrink in size. The vein will eventually disappear and is reabsorbed into the affected leg.
Compression Stockings
The treatment itself is not time consuming, minimal discomfort and minimal down time. You will be required to purchase and wear compression stockings after your sessions (5 to 7 days following treatment). You may experience bruising which can last up to 3-4 weeks’. You are permitted to resume all regular day activities immediately following sclerotherapy. However, we do recommend that you avoid strenuous activity (aerobics, running, leg workouts) for the first 48 hours.
Whether you just recently saw spider veins appear or you’ve had them for a long time, we can help!
Please note that there are no refunds on injectables, laser, or surgical procedures.
