The goal of this procedure is to enhance or restore the size and shape of the breasts. Patients elect to undergo breast augmentation for many different aesthetic reasons, which include balancing breast size, compensating for reduced breast mass after pregnancy or surgery and for correcting breast asymmetry. Breast augmentation can give women a fuller, firmer, better-proportioned look through the placement of an array of saline or silicone implants.

A breast lift is performed to regain the youthful shape and position of breasts that have begun to sag or have lost volume and firmness. A youthful contour can be achieved by trimming excess skin and tightening supporting tissues. The procedure can be complemented with the placement of breast implants, depending on the ultimate size and shape desired.
